I can see Something that’s happening here. I can see I’m waiting for the rain. I can see how it all falls apart. I can see Something that’s happening here. I can see I’m waiting for the rain.

It’s a beautiful day, when the sun comes through the trees. And the grass grows tall, when I walk through I feel small. I don’t know where I am, but I know I’m coming home, It’s the beauty of the morning, that holds back the alone, I hear the native birds returning, I feel the space has grown, I know I’m coming home. On the edge of the road, I found a truth untold, I didn’t want it missed, taken for fool’s gold. I don’t know where I am, but I know I’m coming home, It’s the beauty of the morning, that holds back the alone, I hear the native birds returning, I feel the space has grown, I know when I’ll be home. Held back tears, and dubious circumstances, Certainly conflict with life’s uncertain chances. Holding on by strings, wavering allegiances, Reminded of the endings constant slow advances. I don’t know where I am, but I know I’m coming home, It’s the beauty of the morning, that holds back the alone, I hear the native birds returning, I feel the space has grown, I know I am home.

I don’t know the place, I don’t like the score. We’re trapped by these walls And stuck to the floor. There’s light through the crack In the closet door. I don’t feel the strength To walk anymore. Do I walk to my fears Or stay in the cold? I’d rather stay right here And watch the world unfold. I know I can’t fit, Can I break the mold? What’s the loss if I stay And do what I’m told? It’s the urge to live, The need to move on. Cold air down his back As he watches the dawn. If he tries to resist Can he live as a pawn. With a captured heart In the night, all along. When the clothing that I wear Doesn’t fit anymore. You start to see my heart In the hole that you tore. Your grip on my hand Shakes me down to my core. It burns the shadow away, I start to feel warm. The sun after the storm Burning into the quiet. A celebration of truth As seen by the Pilot. When he can’t just conform He has to fight it. Taken back to his youth In fields of Violet.

Yellow lights flashing down the road, Driving fast, through the night with nowhere to go. Let’s get lost in this shroud of indigo, Through trees and dark and clouds, roads follow the distant glow. Days Like This Going by so fast, that make me fall in love with you. Letting go of the past, the days take on a brand new hue. When you hold me tight to dawn, when the colors start to rise. Clearing mist I start to see, it’s reflected in your eyes. You can push the sadness from my mind. Lost in a moment, found in rushing time. He will glare, when your hands in mine, I wish I didn’t care, it’s hard to leave behind. Days Like This Going by so fast, that make me fall in love with you. Letting go of the past, the days take on a brand new hue. When you hold me tight to dawn, when the colors start to rise. Clearing mist I start to see, it’s reflected in your eyes. And I know it, I know The color of the sky, Can’t begin to show What I felt that night. Suddenly not alone I think I almost cried. It feels long ago When time is rushing by. Days Like This Going by so fast, that make me fall in love with you. Letting go of the past, the days take on a brand new hue. When you hold me tight to dawn, when the colors start to rise. Clearing mist I start to see, it’s reflected in your eyes.

The Horizon 03:56
When heavens in ruin, where do we go? When my words lose meaning, I feel shallow. The world shining in color, gives off a glow. Running to the future, chained to long ago. I can never forget, your touch the night we met, Although I miss you, I don’t regret. The distance killing us, I won’t put up a fuss, Our love will change but never my trust. Start, Start Climbing over The Horizon, The sun flashes on your face. Welcome to the life I'll die in, But never be erased. Coming back is the terror, I never saw on your face. We were looking at the horizon, Then we stopped feeling so safe. Taking time, (I want to walk with my head held high) Last thing I want, (But it’s hard, but it’s hard, but it’s hard, with this weight) But the first I need.

:End 03:49
I’m trying to move on I’m trying to move on But I don’t want to forget. Alone searching for something to find, Broken by the love that came just right. Days keep passing that I must remember, The Horizon always coming closer. From Start to End From Start to End From Start to End We’re changing color, But never losing touch. From Start to End From Start to End From Start to End Removed from each other, Not lost, just searching. I’m still searching. I found you so I had stopped, Now I’ll try again. Try not to miss you. about

Explore how different ideas make different sounds with Tempered Glass, an EP by Zak Kline, and dive into a world worth understanding.

A writer searches for their voice; with his first release, singer-songwriter Zak Kline combines voice and technique as tools on a search for his sound. Kline set out to write four songs in four genres, allowing him to explore what he liked creating best. "Start:" and ":End" bookend the EP, tying the whole piece together with a narrative, but the four songs, "Alone," "Broken Melody," "Days Like This," and "The Horizon," stand alone as individual ideas he explored through the EP's continuous narrative.
"Your sound is a reflection of who you are, but it is always changing, and your best pieces help you examine what that is," says Kline. "I discovered that the music I like writing best is a mix of pop and vocal harmonies, but my sound is still evolving, and always will be."
